Any of you guys have any MSD RPM pills??? Got a few projects going and need
    a 8000rpm pill and a pill anywhere between 5200rpm and 5800rpm... I don't
want to have to buy two "packages" of pills with pills I will never
use...I've still got a 3500 and 6000 rpm pill that I doubt I'll ever use
from the last time...anyone need one or both of these?

Try using a 10-15K pot and adjust accordingly.

    Thanks Zip,
thats going to be my last option, I'm at the point where it's a cost issue... I don't know what the 10-15k pot would cost. I was hoping someone out there would have some extras as I did... I had already given away or sold the rest of the pills in the "packages" on the above rpm strings...

A 10-15K potentiometer costs <$2.00 at Radio Shack. Get the 3K MSD pill and solder the pot parallel to pills leads.

Now you really got my interest...I thought you were talking about the variable modules from MSD... You have to remember Zip, I know only the very basics of electricity... Can you "break it down" for me? I can now deduce that the resistor takes the place of the one in the pill...how do you arrive at what resistance per rpm...or was it trial and error that was suggested...

After experimenting, I found that MSD pills decrease in resistance as the rpm module increases. Therefore, get the highest resistance module (3000RPM) and wire it parallel to a pot. By experimenting you'll find the rpm you desire.
